Partners

In addition to our chapters, Small Step Loans has strategic partnerships with other microfinance clubs and organizations to accomplish our mission.

Penn Microfinance is a club at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. Through our partnership with Penn Microfinance, we host an annual pitch competition where members of Small Step Loans connect with struggling business owners in developing countries looking for microfinance loans. Members pitch why the business owner they are working with should receive a microloan to judges from Penn.

Microfinance at Berkeley

Through our partnership with the Microfinance Club at the University of California Berkeley, we work closely with small businesses in the Bay Area. Through our organization's fundraising, we provide interest-free loans to these small businesses. In addition, working with Microfinance at Berkley, together we assist these small businesses in applying for other microfinance loans.

Kiva

Through our partnership with Kiva, our club can find aspiring and struggling business owners across the world looking for microfinance loans. We can bring business owners looking for a microloan onto Kiva to receive loans from outside sources as well.

Kiva Youth Project

The Kiva Youth Project is a network of high school and university level microfinance clubs around the world. Through our partnership with the Kiva Youth Project, our club is able to connect with other microfinance organizations, clubs, and universities such as USC, UCLA, and Northeastern to facilitate networking, resource sharing, and originating new loans.
